I'm so thankful for the little things . . . the things that God uses to remind me that He's right here, that He loves me, and to encourage my faith.
In the first two weeks at camp, some counselors had to move living areas three times. I didn't have to move at all. I stayed in the same air conditioned cabin the entire time. It's the little things.
Most counselors switch co-counselors every week. I get to have the same co every week which cuts down on figuring out how each other work, and a new schedule each week. My co and I get along great too! It's the little things.
A butterfly landed on my ankle and let me walk around with him all during waterfront time. It's the little things.
Two hour breaks each day are spent showering, spending time with Jesus, and replying to texts and voicemails. All the texts I've received from "the outside world" are such an encouragement, and a fun thing to look forward to each day. It's the little things.
Before leaving for my cousin's wedding, I was told that when I returned I would be living in a cabin with 13 other staff, un-airconditioned. Instead, I got paired with a high school cabin which had a/c. It's the little things.
My car's air conditioning died (I have a thing for air conditioning, obviously!). I went to get it fixed, but was told it would be $100 just to figure out what was wrong. I drove somewhere else, and got it fixed on the spot for $65. It's the little things.
It's the little things . . . the smell of clean sheets once a week; a strawberry limeade from Sonic; Oreos that were stashed away in my car; time to sit and read a book; notes and letters in the mail from home; flip-flops on the weekend. Thank You, Jesus, for the little things.
