In high school, I longed to know Jesus more. I began a personal journey with God that was very intentional.
Although I had journaled off and on since fifth grade, I kept a consistent journal in eleventh grade, writing out my prayers and things I was learning, and I've continued since. Going to a Christian school means that you're forced to memorize Scripture weekly, but now I memorized daily, learning chunks of the Word at a time. I wrote three things I was thankful for every day for a year, without repeating. Shallow fellowship frustrated me; I wanted to go deeper with God.
(This part of my story is short, but prepare yourself, the next segment is very long.)
